Photo Retouch

For the photo retouch, I took a picture and touched it up by making the skin smoother and less shiny, making the eyes pop, and highlighting and darkening around the face. I also added a few other touch-ups such as darkening the hair, darkening the lipstick, and taking away any hair that was sticking out. One of the most important tools I used was the dodge tool. I used it to highlight the teeth, the eyes, and the whole face to give it a brighter complex. I also used the burn tool to darken the face in certain places. I darkened around the edges of the face, around the colored part of the eyes, and wherever there were shadows either on the face or on the neck.

Age Progression

For the age progression, I made the skin look old by adding wrinkles and bags under the eyes, making the teeth yellow, giving the eyes a yellowish tint, and making the hair gray. One of the most important tools I used was the patch tool. I chose a picture of an old lady and used the patch tool to select the wrinkles on her face and put it onto the picture I used for the project. When I placed the selections onto my photo, they blended with the skin tone on my photo. This made the wrinkles look more realistic. I also used the hue/saturation tool to make the hair and eyebrows gray.

Fantasy/Sci-Fi Manipulation

For the sci-fi manipulation, I decided to do an avatar from the movie. I added the lines and sparkles to the face and neck, and changed the color to blue. I also darkened the hair, made the lipstick blue to match, and changed the eye color to a yellowish/green. The most important tool I used was also the patch tool. However, when the patch tool wasn’t working on the neck, I used the clone stamp tool to select a part of the neck on the picture of the avatar and stamped it onto the neck of my photo.
