Digital Illustration
The theme I chose for this project was growth. For this theme, I chose a picture of a puddle of water in the grass. I added a picture of a little boy looking curiously at his reflection in the water. He doesn’t see a reflection of himself now, but rather a reflection of himself as an older man. I added a picture of a mother duck with her little baby ducks following her to further represent the theme of growth. I also added a picture of a flower on the side of the puddle and flower petals in the water. I chose an image with a lot of green because the color green represents growth and nature. The puddle of water represents the color blue, which stands for trust and calmness. The purple also comes into play with the water and how it has a purplish/grayish tint. The color purple represents creativeness and fantasy. To make this whole image, I used the quick
selection tool to select images that I photoshopped into the background image, and the blur tool to blend the images. When making the whole image look like an illustration, I used the mixer brush tool. I selected a brush that was similar to a normal paint brush and changed the size of the brush based on what part of the image I was painting.​
