Concert Poster
For this project, I decided to make a poster for the band twenty one pilots and chose a picture that I took from one of their concerts for the background of the poster. I used photoshop to edit the picture by using an adjustment layer. I put the whole picture in black and white but then erased a section of it so that the guy was in color and would be the focus of the picture. I also added a lens flare filter to enhance the effects of the lights in the background, and used a blur filter to blur out the bottom of the picture. Once I transferred this picture to illustrator, I took one of the designs from the band’s album cover and put it at the top and bottom of the poster. On these sections, I used the type tool to add the band’s name, the venue location, and the show date. I chose the picture from the concert to use on the poster because the band’s shows are a big part of who they are and they are known for their amazing performances where they are held up by the crowd. I chose to use the color scheme of red, black, and white because these are the colors used on the band’s most recent album cover. One difficulty I had while doing this project was getting the coloring of the picture to match with the colors of the sections at the top and bottom of the poster. One success I had while doing this project was being able to portray the band’s style and the things they are known for.​
